• Census Buro (National Buro of Census) -
Ministry of Planning and Development
The National Census Buro was equipped with 2 ArcView
licenses. The training of local staff and the compilation of
geographical base-data for demographic analysis was conducted by
GISsat.
• SIDU (Gold Monitoring Unit) - Ministry of Employment
SIDU was equipped with 4 ArcView licenses. The setup of the
GIS-units, training of local staff, the supply of GPS-units and
the training in the use of GPS for GIS, the compilation of
geographical base-data and the setup of a geographical database
was conducted by GISsat.
• Waterloopkundige Afdeling (Department of Hydrology) -
Ministry of Public Works
The department of Hydrology was supplied with ArcView
software and support on the software.
• Land en Bosbeheer (Land and Forest management) – Ministry
of Natural Resources
The department of Land and Forrestry management was supplied
with PC-hardware, ArcView, Spatial Analist, DAK and Image
Analysis software and GPS-equipment. Training of local staff in
the use of the software and in the utilisation of GPS for
GIS-applications was organized by GISsat.
• Centraal Bureau Luchtkartering (Central Bureau for Aerial
Mapping) – Ministry of Natural Resources
The Central Bureau for Aerial Mapping was supplied with
PC-hardware, ArcView, Spatial Analist, DAK and Image Analysis
software and GPS-equipment. Training of local staff in the use
of the software and in the utilisation of GPS for
GIS-applications was organized by GISsat.
• Dienst Bodemkartering ( Department of Soil Survey) –
Ministry of Natural Resources
The Department of Soil Survey was supplied with PC-hardware,
ArcView, Spatial Analist, DAK and Image Analysis software and
GPS-equipment. Training of local staff in the use of the
software and in the utilisation of GPS for GIS-applications was
organized by GISsat.
• N.V. Energiebedrijven Suriname E.B.S (Suriname Power
Company ) – Ministry of Natural Resources
EBS was supplied with ArcView software, support on the
software and CAD- & GIS Training. Additional services provided:
dataconversion and CAD-customization
• Medische Zending
This department of the Ministry of Health was supplied with
ArcView software and support on the software. GISsat held a
Training in the use of the GIS software and supplied mapping
data of Suriname to monitor Malaria and other diseases mainly in
the southern regions of Suriname.
• IICA – Ministerie van LVV
IICA was supplied with ArcView software and support on the
software. GISsat supplied mapping data of Suriname and
Paramaribo to be used in the Carambola Fruit Fly Project.
• Geo Survey
This survey company was supplied with ArcView software,
ArcView spatial Analist software and ArcView 3D Analist software
and support on the software. The software is used in various
projects for analyzing and calculation purposes (e.g. stockpile
calculations at SURALCO LLC)
• Centrum for Agricultural Research in Suriname (CELOS -
NARENA)
CELOS-NARENA was supplied with ArcView software for mapping-
and analyzing purposes , subject: the Amazon Forrest of Suriname
• University of Suriname – Mining Department
The University of Suriname was supplied with ArcView
Software and support for educational purposes and to complete
studies within the department of geology.
