Training
GPS for the Professional
Goal
During a three day course, the trainee will learn the
theoretical aspects of GPS and participate in active field data
collection. The main goal of the training course is to be able
to conduct an independent professional survey using GPS:
datacollection downloading data dataprocessing integration
of GPS data into GIS.

Training Map Projections for GIS and Surveying
Goal
This one-day-course for GIS-users, foresters, miners,
hunters or other users of carthographic material is meant to
explain the different aspects of map-projection methods. The
training focusses on the correct use of GPS and GIS and the
interpretation of existing cartographic material of Suriname,
different mapping methods are explained to establish correct
digital geographical data. The training will be a theoretical
explanation of the different topics, a short field survey and
the dataprocessing and map-calibration using Desktop GIS
software.
Training Topics
